A transitional master bath in a soft green palette, rebuilt from the studs with a walk-in shower and a double vanity.
Most kitchens we are asked for are safe. This one was not, and it is better for it. The owners arrived knowing they wanted colour, contrast and materials that were not all from the same family, which is a harder brief than it sounds.
The work was in restraint: deciding which elements carry the character and which stay quiet so the room still holds together. Mixed finishes were sampled side by side at the design center, under the light the kitchen actually gets, rather than chosen individually and hoped for.
Underneath the personality it is a straightforward, well-built kitchen with a sensible layout, which is the only reason the personality reads as confident rather than chaotic.
